READ Hebrews 13:17-19 “In Relation To God”
QUESTIONS:
Let’s pretend someone was keeping watch over you in the plains of Africa. There are lions, cheetahs, and many other dangerous animals. You have to make a 10-mile trek across the savannah. Your guide is in charge of keeping you safe and getting you food. He has been charged to keep you alive during your time in Africa. How would you treat your guide? Would you listen to him? Explain how your relationship with him would be.
Read v. 17. Now if you would treat your guide in an African plain that way, how should you treat your mentors in the faith that keep watch over your soul?
Do you take your spiritual mentors for granted? If so, how and why?
If you frustrate your mentor with faithlessness or lack of commitment, how does that hurt you?
Now a question to those who are discipling someone else. Verse 17 says that you will give an account to God as to how you lead those put in your charge. How does this affect the way you lead?
How can you make it a joy for your mentor to disciple you?
I pray you are thankful for the life on life commitment of discipleship. It is God’s plan to reach the nations. Run your race of faith together with those in your group and those leading you!
