READ Hebrews 5:1-10 – “Christ as Our High Priest”

QUESTIONS:

  1. Similar to yesterday, we see 2 very important characteristics of Jesus as the perfect High Priest.  Read verses 1-6 and list 2 very important characteristics of OT high priests and Jesus as our High Priest.

  2. Read v. 7.  Jesus prayed many times in the gospels.  But here we see the author of Hebrews is talking about a special time that was more intense than any other time.  Do some research and learn what prayer was the most intense prayer Jesus ever prayed.  Write it down.

  3. What made this prayer so intense?  What was Jesus so intensely anticipating?  What do you think had Jesus so visibly in anguish?

  4. READ v. 8.  This seems to be a confusing verse.  Is this implying Jesus learned something?  How could an all-knowing God learn something?  Explain your answer.

  5. When do you believe the suffering of Jesus began?  (At birth, at the trial and beatings, or on the cross?)  Explain your answer.

  6. READ v. 9.  Does this say, “and being made perfect?”  This is talking about Jesus.  Was Jesus not perfect?  Before going to the next question, explain.  After you explain click below on “Complete & Continue.”
